Mineral Botanica Brightening Series Foaming Facial Wash

A couple days before New Year, a package arrived at my office. Was wondering what is it at the first time because as long as I remembered I didn't order anything that supposed to arrive that day (that's because I'm a waiting-in-front-of-the-door-if-there-is-a-notification-if-my-package-is-gonna-be-delivered-that-day type of a person).

So it's kinda surprised me when I saw the package is from Mineral Botanica. They sent me their new product, Mineral Botanica Brightening Series Foaming Facial Wash. They said this product is gonna be available in all the counter on January 2017, so I got this product just a little early. Thank you so much Mineral Botanica.

As all of you know Mineral Botanica is a company from Indonesia that made natural and mineral-based products, they claim all of their products are halal, paraben-free and cruelty-free, not only their skincare products but also their makeup line.

I personally love this brand, I use their powder, lipstick, lipcream, bb cream, eyeliner and body lotion. All of them have a very good quality, they don't break me out, and the most important thing is their price range!! At least my husband doesn't rise his eyebrows whenever I bought MiCa product. 

Back to this new facial wash, there aren't many explanation about it on the MiCa official instagram or facebook page, so I'm curious to try it. Reading the label, it said that it purifies, moisturizes, brightens the skin, it has pH balance, with 2in1 function, contains licorice extract and arbutin, and it suitable for all skin-type even the sensitive one. Who's not curious trying that, you know what I'm saying?

The packaging of this facial foam is actually really nice, it comes in a plastic bottle contains a 100ml of product which for me is very generous, because I usually used up a tube of my facial wash which is only 50ml in 2 months or so, so this baby might be lasts me about 3 or 4 months, maybe 5, who knows.. It has pump with clear plastic cap. Not too big, so it's still travel friendly. Sadly, the label is in form of sticker, which is not waterproof, so I guess all the product infos that printed on the label is gonna get blurry and peeled off very soon. Please please Mineral Botanica, make the labeling printed on the bottle like you did with your soft matte lipcream, because this is the product that we suppose to put in our bathroom and it gets wet all the time.

The formula is unique, for me mainly because I never use foaming facial wash before, it comes in the form of foam, as the name, I can't describe any further, because foam is foam, it's not liquidy, not creamy, it's foamy. I'm a bit skeptical at first, so I took two pumps when I used it for the first time, ignoring all the instructions on the label, and the result is like all of you can guess, I took too much. So later on, I only use one pump, it's enough for washing all over my face. It has a faint citrusy smell, like orange-y, kind of refreshing, not overpowering, so it won't linger in your nose. It left my skin feels clean and refreshed without tight and drying feeling which I really like. One thing that I notice after using this product for about a week now, my pore, especially on my nose area is tighter, and all of my blackheads are gone, I always have blackheads on my nose that I rip off with peel off mask once a week but with this facial foam, I don't  necessarily feel like I need to do that. Like the other products of Mineral Botanica, this baby is also doesn't break me out. I can't say anything about the brightening effect, because I only use this for a week or so, and I don't rely on brightening my skin just by a facial wash anyway..

Unfortunately, it can't clean my makeup thoroughly. I tried to wash my face with my makeup on once, and it didn't take away my bb cream, eyeliner and brows completely, I still need to use my micellar water afterwards. So, it's good as the first step, second step or third step cleanser, not an all in one kind of cleanser. But, if you're not that kind of person, you know, like me who use makeup everyday, this is for you, because it can take away all of the dirt, the dust, the oil, all of dumps our pollute air put on our skin, perfectly.

So overall this is a very great face wash, I will continue using it, and the price won't break your wallet! As Mineral Botanica said in their instagram, this product will retail at Rp 39.900 and will available in all of their counter in January, and they also said with every purchase of this facial wash, you will also get free 60ml fragrance mist, while stock lasts.

Will I repurchase ? Of course I do, if I can get my hands on this baby after I used it up, because honestly it's kinda hard to get a hold of Mineral Botanica products here in Medan, please Mineral Botanica make them full stock!!

Hada Labo Shirojyun Arbutin Whitening Lotion

I'm falling in love again.. =D


Like I said in my previous post, I just went home from my short holiday to Malaysia.


There, I bought a bottle of what I think a miraculous skincare product. It's Hada Labo Shirojyun Arbutin Whitening Lotion.


Why I say this is a miracle? Because I never have any addiction of touching my face skin before but this one bottle just made it. Yes, I admit, I have an addiction. Of touching my face skin.


Actually, before I went to Malaysia, I already had it in my mind, I have to buy this. I just read it's huge good reviews, it said that a bottle of Hada Labo lotion sold every 4 seconds in Japan (isn't it crazy??) and really curious about giving it a try. So in the first time I can step into Guardian, a drug store there after I put my baggage and suitcases at the flat, I looked for this blue bottle.


I found it in the small corner of a shelf, kinda hidden and I ran to the cashier so I won't change my mind. Lucky me, I had an offer, 10% discount (or something, I'm not so sure :p).


So let's take a peek.. :)

Hada Labo is skin care line researched & developed by Rohto Pharmaceutical Co. Japan and The Mentholatum Co.


It's a bottle with blue lid and full of Japan writings which I don't know the meaning but I love them, since i love Japan so much XD. It's a very thin liquid with less color, almost clear. 


It says lotion, but don't think that this is a moisturizer product or some kind. It's actually a toner, people in Japan call a toner as a lotion. 


What makes it so interesting about this product, beside of it's good reviews, that it says it contains arbutin, a very natural bear berry extract that being used as a natural whitening product in Japan for centuries, and Vitamin C, that we all know has a huge effects as whitening and anti-oxidant agent, also last but not least, the Hyaluronic Acid, the element that can hydrate your skin from the inside. More about the ingredients here.

So, with this mixture of ingredients I hope that my skin can be more lighter and smoother.


Another thing that makes me interested is that it claims it has skin pH balance, and only use the purest ingredients so it has a very low irritation effects, even on the sensitive skin. And also it's free of any fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol or colorant, that usually gives me allergic to a product, more plus points for Hada Labo =D

This one bottle contains 170ml product. Most of you may think, oh, it's so little product for a toner.. Actually, big no!! Because of the way this product used. We usually use a toner with a cotton pad after cleansing our face with facial foam or milk cleanser, but this Hada Labo isn't use that way. We put some of the product on our palm, and then pat it to our face with our palms until it's fully absorbed. It takes time, really, we keep pat it and pat it and pat it and pat it until suddenly it's gone. It doesn't feel sticky at all, it's just gone. Leaving our skin feels supple and hydrates but not oily, that's the most important part, not oily at all!! I have a combination skin, my cheek's are normal, but my T-Zone is oily, and Hada Labo is not bugging me and left my skin like a frying pan, just keeps my skin hydrates.


I only use about four drops of this product a time. Very little product used, so I guess this one bottle could last forever. Thank God I have 2014 expiry date printed on the bottle.

Every morning after I wake up, I touch my face and it feels so supple, so moist and so soft.. (See? I'm addicted XD)
I don't really think about it's whitening effect, although my Mom said I'm a bit fairer after my 1 week usage, I'm happy already for the softness of my skin. Because my skin is so soft, my BB Cream can spread easily, my powder and blush last longer than usual. It also helps minimize thin wrinkles that I have around my eyes, so my fiance can't call me Grandma anymore.. XD
